Walk in the Dark update

We'll the weather managed to stay fair for our Walk in the dark over the Forth Road Bridge on Sunday the 16th October.

Everyone completed the walk in great time and were treated to some home made soup, tea and shortbread for completing the walk. The Doggies also had a few treats to go home with for being soo good.

It looks like we have raised more than our target of £500 for Medical detection dogs, but we will keep you updated when all the money comes in.

Walk In The Dark

“Walk in the Dark” in aid of Medical Detection Dogs

The K9Active team and their friends are raising money for the Medical Detection Dogs on Sunday the 16^th October, we are walking over the Forth Road Edinburgh a total of 3 miles (5 Km). If you wish to join us you can e-mail Zena for a sponsor form and poster and we will meet at 7pm at the South car park ready for leaving at 7.30pm weather permitting, or you can donate using the justgiving web site.

K9Active will give the person or group on our walk raising the most money for the charity a leuchtie light, the leuchtie light is one of the new additions to our soon to be unveiled new web site.

Medical Detection Dogs are a charity that works in partnership with researchers, NHS Trusts and Universities. Their aim is to train specialist dogs to detect the odour of human disease. We all know that dogs are renowned for their acute sense of smell and their willingness to please man. It just seems right that they should add detection of some of the most common and dangerous health conditions man has to endure to the long list of things that our dogs do for us.

The Charity provides Medical Alert Dogs which are trained to assist individuals who manage complex medical conditions on a day to day basis. The dogs are taught to identify the odour changes that are associated with certain medical events. For example someone living with Diabetes. Once trained, the medical detection dogs recognise blood sugar levels outside the normal range and warn their owners or get help, before the symptoms are felt. They will bring their owner any necessary medical supplies such as glucose and blood testing kits. They can also be trained to push alarm buttons.

Cancer Detection Dogs are being trained to detect odours relating to some cancers, and it is hoped that this work and research will enable scientists to develop an early cancer screening system.

Weekend Warrior Syndrome (and how to avoid it.)

On any given Monday, vets’ waiting rooms up and down the country contain a liberal sprinkling of the latest victims of ‘weekend warrior syndrome’. Loosely put, it’s the tendency of dog owners to believe that while an average Monday to Friday sees the household pet taking a 15-minute walk between dinner and the TV going on, when Saturday rolls around both owner and Fido will easily scale Kilimanjaro before lunch.

While this is clearly a fairly flippant tongue-in-cheek definition, an increasing problem exists, and every week more dogs become casualties of their owner’s unrealistic ambitions. The fact is that like people, dogs need training and preparation for activity which is significantly greater than their daily routine to be safe and successful in carrying it out. Furthermore, while the absolute capability of a dog may be more a function of his age, fitness, training and general health, there are factors regarding his shape, size and breed to consider: perhaps a miniature dachshund may not be ideally suited to flyball competition?

We all look forward to the weekend when we have more time to spend with our dogs, and to getting out with them, but we need to remember that exceeding our dogs’ fitness levels can cause problems including:
• Heat exhaustion
• Hypoglycaemic (low blood sugar) collapse
• Muscle soreness, strains and tears
• Overuse injuries and acute arthritic flare-ups
• Increased risk of serious ligament and tendon injuries

So how do we avoid making weekend warriors out of our faithful friends?
There are some simple rules to follow to keep them safe.

First of all, consider checking with your vet if there are any specific individual issues your pet might have with a new activity you are planning, and any precautions (s)he advises. You will need to have a reasonably good idea of what the exact demands of that particular event are.
Work out a reasonable time-scale to train your pet’s fitness up, and start in good time. Your dog’s endurance will improve gradually with regular training as you steadily increase distances and speeds with him; but step-ups which are too large and/or too soon may cause harm.Training should be discipline specific; that is you must practice the same skills that you need on the day.
Plan what you need to carry, including food and water, and how you will get backup if you need it; allow time for a warm-up and cool-down period, and above all pay constant attention to your canine companion.

No matter how disappointing, STOP if your dog is struggling. Unfinished business is just an excuse to get back out there another day!

What is the Lifeguard range?

It is a new range of reflective products designed specifically for active dogs that are on the move in the dark and in hazardous surroundings in all weather conditions.

The new range is the result of over a year of research and development into reflective products for dogs and their owners that will enhance the visibility of them both. Before the initial design of the new range started a consumer poll of Finish dog owners took place, the poll was answered by 6500 active dog owners who spoke about their hobbies/outdoor activities and experiences of walking their dog in the dark. 97% of dog owners considered the visibility of their dogs in the dark either important or very important.

Road accidents are overwhelmingly the leading cause of accidental death or injury to dogs. In Finland alone, over 2000 dogs die annually in different kind of traffic accidents. If the same ratio is applied to the whole of Europe, the number of dog deaths due to road accidents would total roughly over one hundred thousand.

According to research most accidents involving dogs occur during normal daily walks. Over half of the dog owners who answered the Hurrta poll walk their dogs weekly along unlit paths and parks, also forest tracks, fields where dogs are often allowed to walk off leash. Dangerous situations occur most often when a dog walker meets a careless motorist, motor bike or cyclist. Over 80% of owners whose dogs have been involved in an accident believe that reflectors would have made a difference.

The products are made with a high quality 3M Scotchlite reflector, which research has found to be the best on the market. To make the products functional for all round use, all the outdoor fabrics in the range are laminated with waterproof and breathable Houndtex coating ( for those of you who already own a Hurtta coat/jacket will already be aware of how good this material is ). Special attention has been paid to the adjustability and user comfort which is a trade mark of all the Hurtta products.

Hello everybody - my name is Robbie Woodward and I am a canine behaviourist based in rural Staffordshire. I have been very kindly asked by Zena Irvine of K9 active to write an article on my new centre for the rehabilitation of troubled dogs, and if you like what you read then I would be honoured to write regular articles on activities for you to share with your own four legged friends.

I began the Raw Dog Company a few years ago after my wife decided enough was enough and encouraged me to offer to you guys, what came almost naturally to me. I grew up in rural Staffordshire, England and some might say I was born with an instinctual bond to our closest companion. That bond over the years and into adult hood was something that I never really thought much of way back then but as I matured I realised that I was able to do things with dogs that no one else seemed to be able to do. I could control the most aggressive, convince the most timid and tame the wildest; which to me was no mean feat. Slowly though I realised that I had been blessed with a gift and thanks to my wife I am now able to share this gift with you. What was just a passion of mine and like I say a natural ability, has now turned into my fabulous company and in the last 2 years of operation I have helped in the successful rehabilitation of over 50 dogs and consulted with many more owners that now have happy and balanced friends by their side. Some of these dogs were moments away from being put to sleep but to see them now you would never know what lay in the past. Through all of my experiences with dogs though nothing means more to me than seeing them complete the tasks they were born to do, following their instincts to retrieve, hunt, herd or any manner of task that we put them too really does send shivers down my spine, (in a good way of course)
What I have come to follow though, despite my natural ability is the Wolf Pack Mentality and that every dog is born either wanting to lead, or to be lead. Some may call it Alpha dog’ others dominance training; I have even heard the term ‘pack placement’ before but all I am really trying to do is get you to understand your dogs language so that he can understand yours a little better! The fact is all our dogs, no matter what the breed are less than 1% genetically different than their wolf ancestors so why then should we not at least treat them with the same respect we would a wild wolf and guide their natural instincts through our strange and often times, dangerous world.

My company’s ethos is that nothing compares to a dog balanced by nature, and that is how I rehabilitate dogs; using natures tools. There is nothing fancy about what I do, no tricks or magic tools, and I very rarely use treats because when you can teach a dog to act naturally, using nature as your main training aid his instincts will eventually take over giving you a more balanced, and happy go lucky kind of dog. The key is I fulfil their needs first, and by doing so afford myself the right to ask them to live in a complicated human world, side by side with me. In my eyes a dog never does anything without reason; they are instinctual and reactive and merely become a product of their environment – and when we confuse them by seeing them through human eyes we in effect createmost of the issues I deal with on a daily basis. By fulfilling a dogs needs first and then bestowing our human endearment on them afterwards we create a far more comfortable and natural way of living for our dogs.

Sometimes though owners find it hard to let go, easier to live with a problem than address it and sometimes for years ignore issues and allow them to escalate until enough is enough and eventually they cannot continue anymore. It is here where a lot of those dogs end up with me. Sometimes to be rehabilitated and return home to live healthier more fulfilled lives and other times they remain with me as a last chance scenario, from a rescue centre or even police custody. Once rehabilitated, they are placed in carefully selected homes, with families or suitable human counterparts who are trained by me to continue my work for the rest of the dog’s life. It’s a win - win situation really; dogs who were about to be euthanized through no real fault of their own get a second chance to live the way I believe a dog is happiest living. If they take somewhat longer than most authorities have the capability to deal with, they can rest safe in the knowledge that I never give up on a dog that comes into my care. Through time and patience I believe that all dogs can be rehabilitated and go on to live relatively normal lives; providing I select the right owner moving forward and have the patience to get them there.

That is where my sanctuary comes in; or CUBA as I like to call it. The Canine Underlying Behavioural Academy (C.U.B.A.) is just a name for my home and the work that I do here. Following on my ethos of balancing by nature my wife and I have a perfectly located, half acre property that sits on the border of the National Forest in rural Staffordshire so no shortage of walks and activities for the dogs to get their teeth into. My location allows me to go give or take anywhere in the country within four or five hours and means it’s never too far to travel. My services are open to anybody who is having issues with their dogs and needs a little extra help than I can give in one or two consultations. Originally I wanted to have a place big enough to house 30 dogs and their owners and that is still a dream but right now I have my pack of 8 dogs all balanced by nature, to aid in the reconditioning and behaviour modification of your troubled pooches. We have compromised for the time being in that directly opposite our home is a very popular brand of hotel so were you wanting to stay with your dog or visit during rehabilitation then there is always the option to do so. Dogs that come here and live with my pack can stay for minimum two weeks up to well.....how long is a piece of string? They are put through bespoke conditioning programmes to help aid their rehabilitation – what that programme is all depends; unlike other behaviourists or trainers I am aware that all dogs are different and each will respond to different things in different ways. I always stick to the pack mentality but how I get the best out of a particular dog depends on what they show me either at consultation or within the first week of being here. I basically teach a dog how to be a dog again with the help of my pack and mile upon mile of rolling hills, canal tow paths, open fields and everything nature can offer us. All dogs are treated as if they were my own; they have access to paddling pools, agility equipment and sand pits for those terriers who like nothing more than to dig. There is comfortable, warm custom built kennelling for dogs that like to be outside, and enough room for those who like to watch TV with the family at night. I deal with all breeds of dog from the smallest Chihuahuas to the biggest of Great Dane’s; from power breeds to working types every dog is a dog and I cater for them all. Even the most difficult of cases have been solved; dogs that have been told by others there is nothing they can do have all left here with a new lease of life and continue to thrive when they return home. That’s not to say you will be able to continue without doing some of the work yourself, but a stay here with me puts you in the position to do just that.

The be all and end all is simple; I do this job for one thing and one thing only, the safety and wellbeing of the animal I have come to know and love; your dog; my dog; all dogs!

Autumn darkness tips

British summer time ended last week. That means fewer hours of daylight to do the things we love to do outdoors.
We’ve got five tips to help you “fall back” into your winter routine courtesy of Ruff Wear.

Check those batteries in your flashlights, dog lights, and headlamps so you’re not left searching for your four-legger under the light of the moon. (Tip: Did you know your portable lights will generally last longer in blink versus solid mode?)
If your dog enjoys a leisurely roll in the leaves or mud, layer them in jacket. Then all you have to do is wash the jacket, not the dog!
Since there are fewer hours to “clear the path” of poop outside, start your scooping duty earlier so you won’t have to worry about stepping in those sneaky piles after dark
Arm your dog in reflective gear during your low-light outings. Can’t tell if something has reflective in it? Hold a flashlight at your ear and shine it on the item in front of you.
When taking your dog out for a hike or a walk, be sure to stand upwind when they lift their leg near their favorite bush or tree trunk. A well-timed gust could put you in the “danger zone.”

We had a great weekend marshalling at the event and think we ended up with the best spot on the course at the water Hazard!!

Hi Folks

The K9Active Winter Sale has ended. Hope you all managed to pick up a bargain over the festive period and kitted out your best friend for the very Arctic weather we had in the UK.

Where have we been!!!

We'll it's been a very busy few months here at K9active.

With the arrival of Blue, Amber and Chez's peace and quite was shattered, and i think we forgot just how much work a new puppy can be.

Anyway things have started to settle with Blue and he is fitting in quite nicely now, we'll as long as he doesn't touch Chez for fear of getting his nose bitten off. He. he.

October came and we had decided a few months earlier to have a small break and booked a log cabin up near Inverness for a week. I must say the folks there were great and also allowed us to bring our three dogs to stay as well! A great time was had, with all the new sniffs and great walks, more about our holiday later as we would recommend this cabin to everyone.

No sooner had we got back then we had Keith's Bronthers wedding to go to. The rain stopped just in time for the officail Photos, i think we even got a few where stephen wasn't looking so emotional :-) . We had a great day and fantastic evening. Keith and I wish Stephen and Paula a wonderfull life together.

November came and went,wow that was quick. The website went from strength to strength, breaking all records. Thank you very much to all our customers we do hope you and your best friend enjoy what you have bought from K9active.

So to start off December we have decided to have a stock clearout.

Is it me or is winter here?

Is it me or is winter arriving a tad early this year.

The last few days here have been a bit wet to say the least, looks like the winter clothes are going to have to come out for Chez, Blue and Amber.

We received a phone call Saturday afternoon asking if we could help provide a Ruffwear track jacket with Search dog printed on the side within a week.

The request was made by Kate Powell of the Search and Rescue Dog Association (Ireland North) for presentation to Jody and John on completion of their novice mountain search dog test which took place in the Mourne Mountains, Northern Ireland over a 3 day period.

The timing was going to be tight, but we managed to get the Jackets delivered to us, sent out to our printer, returned to us and then shipped to Kate in Northern Ireland in 4 days. Phew even i was amazed how fast Keith worked on this one!!

Blue has arrived

Hi Everyone
I would like to introduce you to our new addition to the K9Active Team, Blue a 7 1/2 week Hungarian Visla. We collected him on Saturday from Rachel down in Wereham in Norfolk. Rachel is an excellant breeder of Hungarian Visla's and Weimaraner's ( Silvestre Gun Dogs ).

Blue has settled in really well, although Amber and Chez are a little put out by him. Hopefully, he will win them over, as he has done with Keith and I.

I was very impressed with his journey from Norfolk, which took 7 hrs, he wasn't fazed by it and slept most of the way.

We haven't had a bad night with him yet ( touch wood ), he sleeps in his crate and last night slept right through from 11pm - 8am.

We will keep you updated with stories and photos when we can find the time.

New addition arriving in only 4 days

We are getting very excited here, as our new member 'Blue' a Hungarian Viszla, will be arriving home on Saturday the 4th July.

Not looking forward to the 14 or so hour round trip to Norfolk. Down on Friday back on Saturday.

Everything is ready for his arrival and Chez and Amber, i think, will be ready to show him all the best play spots but maybe not their treat hiding spots in the garden.

Our Favourite beach

Decided to go to our favourite beach at St Andrews on Sunday, the weather was lovely could not believe how warm it was, does this mean Summer has finally arrived in Scotland.

And yes of course, Amber and Chez's took their favourite toy the Ring Zinger, the best toy in the world.

Poor Chez got so caught up in going for the ring in the water, he didn't realise he had gone in right up to the top of his legs, and if you know Chez, you'd know he only likes to get his toes wet and nothing else. His face was a picture, sorry we were all too gobsmacked to get a photo.

Can't wait to take our new pup Blue to explore the sand and the sea, that will be fun and we'll take lots of pictures for you to see.

Yipee!
Got confirmation Today that we are getting a new addition to our team.
A Hungarian viszla which we are going to call Blue.

He was born on the 17th May along with 11 brothers and sisters Yes That's 12 Pup's in all.
Well done to Scarlett their mum who is doing a brilliant job and looks fantastic for it.

Only have to wait another 7 weeks before he arrives in Scotland and joins the K9Active team.
Amber & Chez are looking forward to showing our new member around.

Had a trip to Harrogate last week to visit the PATS (Pet & Aquatics Trade Show).
PATS was the dedicated pet and aquatics trade shows, staged in two purpose built exhibition centres – in the North, at Harrogate and in the South, at Sandown Park. PATS showcased the newest pet and aquatics product launches for 2009.

We saw some interesting new products which hopefully you will see on the website soon, we also saw some products which will make an appearance on our new website, poochiespaws.co.uk for Designer Dogwear and Accessories.

Got speaking to a few of our suppliers when we were there, one of them was Tricia from the company we source the Hurtta Range of Dog clothing. She introduced us to a handy range of products for when our best friends have that little accident or are having a smelly day.
Simple Solutions from the US provide an extremely comprehensive range of products from Stain and odour removers for the house and back yard to scented candles and puppy training pads. Look out for these on the website soon.

Made a stop to see Gabriela who supplies us with the Wacky Walk'r range of flexible dog leads and Katie's Bumpers Tough toys. We saw some new toys that can be suitable for the more destructive pooch. Although the toys are not completely indestructible they do last longer than standard toys. Katie's Bumpers is one range which will be getting added to the site soon.

Another new product that we are thinking of adding is from Pet Republic. They manufacture a range of mats which are machine washable. Two designs are available, the Munch Mat for placing under your dogs feeding area which will not slip and absorb some of the spills we always get from our mucky pups (like Amber who gets more water on the floor than in her mouth when drinking!!!). The other design known as the Washer Rugs is a runner designed to remove dirt from the dogs feet as they enter our home. Look out as we are still considering adding these over the coming weeks.

Greyhound Rescue Fife Update

Hi
Just thought i should update you all on how the Greyhound Rescue Fife show went.

The turnout for the second show was fantastic, i lost count of how many dogs and their owners turned up on not such a good weather day.

We were quite busy on the stand and had some excellent comments about the products we carry like the Hurtta Harnesses which were looking good on some of the Greyhounds.

Heres our stand with Zena looking none too happy at getting her photo taken.:-)

We'll forgive Zena as she was up at 6 am that day a Sunday of all days.

The Best in show winner here getting their rosette and prize, a Hurtta Pro Raincoat donated by ourselves. Didn't manage to get a photo of the lucky Greyhound wearing the coat but he did look fetching in it.

The organisers managed to raise £2500 this year which is absoloutly fantastic. Congratulations to them, and we look forward to next year.

Greyhound Rescue Fife Dog Show

Sorry we've not updated the Blog in a while, but we've been really busy getting ready for K9Active's first stall at a dog show.
It's only a little show but it might as well be crufts with the amount of work and organising required, hopefully everything will go well on the day.

This is the 2nd greyhound rescue Fife dog show that will take place indoors on Sunday the 26th April at Caldwell's farm near Collessie in Fife. The organisers hope that this family friendly event well help raise awareness of the plight of greyhounds in a relaxed atmosphere and allow people not only the opportunity to talk about their dogs but show them as well. Although the show will have a predominantly greyhound slant to it, some classes will be open to other breeds as well. If you do not have a dog then this is the ideal opportunity to come along and see these majestic dogs “strut” their stuff and learn more about them and expel many of the myths.

Doors open at 11:00 with the first class starting at 11:30.

Celia Fernie and her husband Jimmy set up Celia's Greyhound Rescue in 2005. This was in response to the sheer number of unwanted Greyhounds reaching the end of their racing careers in the area.
We have a small sanctuary and have at least 5 dogs available for re-homing at any one time, plus an endless list of dogs waiting to come to us. Our dogs mostly come from the racing track in Thornton, Fife. All are fully vaccinated, wormed, treated for fleas and mostly neutered. We are situated near Kinghorn and Kirkcaldy in Fife, Scotland and we re-home dogs throughout Fife and sometimes further afield.

Wacky Walk'r Test Drive

Amber is now the proud owner of a fluorescent pink Wacky Walk'r Urban Dog Lead.

We've have been test driving the Urban Lead for the past week and I have to say it does exactly what it says in the video.

I didn't feel the tugging on my arm and shoulder when Amber pulled and she didn't get the jerk of a sudden stop when I pulled the lead back.

The colours are fantastic especially my favourites the Pink and Purple.

Light nights are here. well nearly!

Finally the light nights are here, no more torches or doggy lights.

I have been looking forward to the light nights for ages so I can use the Ring Zinger every day instead of just at weekends. Amber and Chez love the Ring Zinger it’s the best toy I have ever bought, and it’s a great way of tiring Amber out with the minimum effort from me which has to be a good thing.

The best thing about it is that it's not like a ball when you know where its going to go as soon as you have thrown it, it has a mind of its own and your dog has to think when its chasing it where is it going next, testing your dogs agility.

Introducing The Wacky Walk'r

Exciting new product from the U.S The Wacky Walk’r (I know it’s a silly name but hey it’s from the U.S.)
I am really excited about this new product I have found from the U.S, I can’t wait to buy one for Amber.
As Amber tends to pull when she is on her lead, I have in the past used an anti pull harness which do help a lot but tend to snap eventually.

At the moment I’m using Chez’s Hurtta Harness which is fine but Amber still pulls a bit. The Hurtta Harness is not designed to stop dogs pulling. More the opposite probably, well suited to sled dogs.

The new Wacky Walk'r leads are designed specially for dogs that pull, ………….
Available in lots of different colours some of them are quite funky, I fancy the florescent pink for Amber.

Winter Warmer break at Culcreuch Castle

It’s nice to get away for a few days especially at this time of year, and it’s even better if you can take your best friend along with you to enjoy the fun.
Keith and I decided to go on a Winter Warmer break to Culcreuch Castle near Stirling, the only trouble being it wasn’t very warm. The Castle was really cold. Thankfully, because we had Amber and Chez with us we were staying in the Courtyard Rooms which where just next to the Castle and had modern central heating. Just as well as we were there during February's very cold snowfall.

Why is it that when you take your dogs away for a few days it is like taking new born babies you have to take everything but the kitchen sink, Keith and I managed to get all our gear in one medium suitcase with room to spare, Amber and Chez had the roof box and it was full to the brim, what with their beds, food, dishes, towels, toys and treats.

Amber and chez certainly had a Zinger of a time playing in the Castle grounds and chasing after the Ring Zinger in the Snow, as you can see in the video above.

We all had a wonderful time Amber and Chez had lots of new and exciting smells and Keith and I had lovely food what more could you want.

I have decided that it would be a good idea to have a page on my web site just for Hotels, B&Bs and Pubs that allow dogs, so if you have a favourite place you would like to share with other dog owners please let me know and I will add it to my site.

St Andrew's Beach

It's the time of year that you just want the sun to come out for a change.

We decided that we hadn’t been to our favourite beach for a nice walk for ages, so the first Saturday we had a nice day off, we went to St Andrews. The trouble with that was, everyone else had the same idea.

When we arrived, the beach was busy. At the far end, where usually you are only allowed to take dogs Blue Flag and all that, it was a lot quieter. We had taken Amber’s and Chez’s favourite toy the Ring-Zinger to see if it really does float, and of course it does.

I was a bit worried about throwing it in to the sea though just in case Amber decided she wasn’t going to retrieve it, and I knew we couldn’t rely on Chez to retrieve it as he won’t go in any further than his ankles. But I didn’t have to worry Amber went in to the water no bother and really enjoyed herself.

We even remembered to take the camera so you can see for yourselves how much fun Amber and Chez had on the beach.

Hi my name is Zena I own a web site called K9 Active.co.uk which sells various products for active dogs, from dog coats, beds, collar & leads, ID tags and toys.

My own dog Amber is a very active three year old Belgian shepherd, who likes nothing better than going on long walks especially in the country or on the beach with her friend Chez, a still active 10 year old Weimaraner.

Living in Scotland where the weather can be very unpredictable with lots of rain; you know where I am going with this, wet and muddy dogs, a dog owner and their homes nightmare, I just couldn't find hardwearing quality dog products that lasted. In the past I have purchased dog raincoats to try and cut down on the muddy mess but was never happy with them, they were either too long in the leg and I had to keep stopping to pull them up, or they would rip easily when Amber was running through bushes or playing with other dogs.
It was because of this I decided to have a web site of my own given other active dog owner’s good quality hard wearing products which I have been able to find. And so K9Active.co.uk was born......

Chez's Dad Keith found a company called Hurtta which make dog coats, dog fleeces and dog raincoats. After seeing the quality of Chez's Hurtta dog gear, I was impressed so much, that I ordered a couple of the dog overalls for Amber. That was last year and because of the inclement weather we have in Scotland Amber has hardly had her dog overall off her back, and they are still as good as new.

I had always wanted a dog rucksack for Amber after watching the TV program The Dog Whisperer with Cesar Milan. However, I could only find a cheap version of the rucksack which ripped after a short while. Again Keith found a company called Ruffwear which manufacture dog backpacks and other products such as harnesses and boots for when you go hill walking with your dog. I was very impressed with the quality and the durability of the rucksack so I got one for Amber. Amber and Chez took to the rucksack's like ducks to water and never faltered when out and about on our walks or going to Country fairs, and seemed to enjoy carrying their own poo bags, water, treats and of course Amber's ball.

My aim of my web site is to give active dog owners high quality, practical products such as winter coats for your dog, dog toys that are robust and last!
